In 2016 I opened my own sports massage and injury clinic across Leigh on Sea and Southend and work with a variety of athletes including triathletes, marathon runners, sprinters, cyclists, boxers, MMA fighters, rugby players, footballers, rowers, cricketers, basketball players, hockey players & golfers. I also see many people in the general population especially city workers who suffer with postural related neck and back pain associated with working for prolonged periods at a desk.
How many sessions will I need?
If you’re diagnosed with an injury a minimum of six sessions is recommended to be completed. You can book just one session to see how you react to treatment, however I would advise booking a block of treatments as a discount would be available.
What is involved?
A sports massage using Swedish massage techniques including effleurage, petrissage, tapotements and frictions. This is to break down a build-up of waste toxins, and poisons in your body that if left untreated can cause injury, reduce movement, loss of strength, restrict flexibility, and contribute to general fatigue.
How do I need to be dressed for my appointment?
On your first appointment an assessment will be completed, and access to the area of skin will be necessary for the massage to take place, so loose, comfortable clothing is advised.
What happens after my treatment?
After your treatment is finished it is recommended that you complete the rehabilitation exercises which are designed to increase flexibility and strength. These are available through the website, if necessary these can be completed by a one to one rehabilitation session which can last from thirty, forty five, to sixty minutes.
